FIRST Rental Program FAQ

How do I opt-into the rental program?
When you register for your classes for EACH semester, on the bookstore options page, select the rental program option. Once you finish registering, you name and class schedule will be sent to the bookstore for that semester.
How much does this program cost?
The cost of this program is $325+tax($351.82)
When will the charge be applied to my student account?
The charge will show up on your student account during the 2nd week of class. If you would like the charge to be on your account before then, stop by the bookstore and let us know and we can apply the charge to your student account.
What's covered underneath the rental program?
The rental program covers ALL of the required textbooks/course materials for ALL of your classes. If there are any Optional or Instructor Recommended books for any of your classes, those are NOT covered by the rental program. If you want any Optional or Instructor Recommended books, you will have to pay for them on-top of the rental program.
Do I have to pay for books if I switch classes or the professor adds books to their course?
No! If you switch classes or if your professor adds books to their course, stop by the bookstore and we will make sure that you have what you need. You do NOT have to pay extra!!
I don't want to be apart of the rental program anymore, what do I do?
If you do not want to be apart of the rental program anymore, you have until the Sunday before classes start to opt-out, as long as you have NOT picked up your books. Once you picks up your books for this semester, you will NOT be allowed to opt-out of the rental program.
The rental program charge is on my account but I didn't pick up any books?
You are seeing this charge because when you registered for classes you chose to be apart of the rental program. If you want the charge taken off of your account, you have until the Sunday before classes start to opt-out. After that, you will NOT be allowed to get the charge refunded off of your student account.

 

F.I.R.S.T. Rental Program Terms and Conditions:

The F.I.R.S.T. Rental Program provides comprehensive coverage for all required textbooks and course materials for the current term. Any changes or additions made by the professor to the course materials will also be included. If you add, drop, or change a course, please contact the bookstore to confirm whether you need to pick up additional books or return any materials.

 

Digital codes and software delivered through our Inclusive Access program are fully covered under the F.I.R.S.T. Rental Program and will not incur any additional costs.

 

Students may opt out of the F.I.R.S.T. Rental Program until the Sunday before classes begin, provided they have not yet picked up their books. Once a student collects their Rental Program book package from the bookstore, they acknowledge and agree to the Rental Program charge of $351.82, which will be applied to their student account.

 

Students who have already picked up their books will not be eligible to opt out of the program.

 

The bookstore will defer processing any Rental Program charges until the second week of the Fall or Spring term.

 

After the opt-out deadline (the Sunday before classes start), students must obtain special permission from the bookstore to withdraw from the Rental Program. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be approved or denied accordingly.
